Good luck, and see you Saturday!

The Last Grilled Cheese Invitational

Welcome to the LAST Grilled Cheese Invitational Registration! Below you will find the registration form. Please fill out all fields.

If you plan on competing in more than one category, you've got to register each sammich separately. There are only 3 heats, meaning you can only compete in a maximum of 3 categories.

NEW FOR 2014: If you're a Grilled Cheese Champion from one of the previous years, you're invited to compete in a special winners heat. We only have a limited number of spots, so sign up quick. If you are ambitious and would like to compete in the regular 2014 competition as well, you are welcome to do so; each competitor is only allowed to compete in a maximum of 3 heats, so you may only sign up for 2 additional heats. However, if you sign up for another heat, you cannot make the same sammich for the special winners heat.  Each sammich can only be entered once!

The Registration Desk may need to contact you after you have completed your registration. PLEASE MAKE SURE THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU HAVE PROVIDED IS VALID AND ONE YOU CHECK REGULARLY. Otherwise, you and your sammich may be left out in the cold. And nobody wants that.

If you have any questions, send us an e-mail at

We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed.

The Grilled Cheese Invitational (GCI) is the largest, craziest, and most exciting Grilled Cheese cooking contest in the country and is the best thing to happen to sliced cheese since sliced bread! The GCI promotes an almost scary pursuit of perfection in a Grilled Cheese Sammich and allows for amateur and professional chefs to compete side-by-side in the hopes of becoming a true Grilled Cheese Champion.

The event was created by Tim Walker in 2003, in an artist loft in Downtown Los Angeles as a competition between friends and since then, has grown into a national movement dedicated to perfecting the art of grilled cheese, with thousands of cheese fiends and regional competitions across the country.
